The Severn Bore 2008
1 September 2008
The 1 September brings two Bores, a smallish one of 9.2 in the morning but a larger one in the evening, estimated at 9.6m starting from about 9pm at Newnham, the heighest the Severn Bore
of 2008. See the
timetable below for approximate times. We're not sure that Over Farm Market will be offering tractor and trailer rides to see the Severn Bore at this time but give them a call on 01452 521014 for more information and availability. The Wharf House, adjacent to the Over Bridge on the A40 west of Gloucester offers scrumptious food and drinks to refresh the Bore onlooker - or even the odd surfer and canoeist!
There is also a Visitor Centre offering very useful information about
the local area and the restoration of the Herefordshire and
Gloucestershire Canal. If you are exploring the area, why not stay in
their luxurious accommodation. Watch our video of the Severn Bore taken at Maisemore Bridge in Septmber 2006. September 2008 Severn Bore Timetable - Peak times
