School holiday events at Gloucester Waterways Museum
Throughout August
There will be something happening everyday at the Waterways Museum this summer
Every day until Sunday 2nd September)
- Brass rubbing throughout the summer on level 3
- ‘Name our horse’ competition
- 45 min cruises every day on the Queen Boadicea II (our Dunkirk Little Ship) at 12.00 noon, 1.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m.
Special daily events as follows:
- Wicked Wednesday 1 August- Severn Fossil Talk
(1pm). Steam Crane and Fielding Engine running
- Thursday 2 August- Olympic colouring-in and medal making
- Friday 3 August – Rope making workshop
(10.45am, 11.45am, 1.45pm, 2.45pm)
- Saturday 4 & 5 August- Make cargo for our Canal Boat
School room activity
- Monday 6 & 7 Tuesday August- Olympic colouring-in medal making
- Tuesday 7 August – Canal lunch cruise.
2 hour cruise with buffet. £15

(1pm). Crafts.

2 course dinner and 2½ hour cruise. £24
- Monday 13th August- Bridge making craft

- Wicked Wednesday 15th August- Jonathan’s Jungle Roadshow. Wide variety of amazing captive-bred animals from all over the world. (11.30am and 2.00pm). Steam Crane and Fielding Engine running
- Thursday 16th August: Crafts
Including animal hat making and roses and castles crafts
- Friday 17th August- Bridge making craft (10.45am and 1.45pm)
- Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th August- Make cargo for our Canal Boat
School room activity
- Sunday 19 August – Saul Junction Cream Tea Cruise. 2½ hour cruise with stop-over at Saul junction. £16
- Monday 20th August – Bridge making craft (10.45am and 1.45pm)
- Tuesday 21st August – Raft Making (10.45am and 1.45pm)
- Wicked Wednesday 22nd August- Storytelling
(11.00am and 1.00pm) – the story of the canal in sand. Steam Crane and Fielding Engine running
- Wednesday 22 August: Canal lunch cruise.
2 hour cruise with buffet. £15. And 2 hour Cream tea cruise. £12
- Thursday 23rd August: Crafts
Including animal hat making and roses and castles crafts
- Thursday 23 August – Sunset Supper cruise
Along the River Severn. £20
- Friday 24th August – Bridge making craft
(10.45am and 1.45pm)
- Saturday 25 August - Flower Making.
- Saturday 25 August - Tewkesbury cruise.
- All day with stop-over in Tewkesbury. Packed lunch included. £24 return, £12.50 one way.
- Sunday 26 August – Boaters’ Crafts Group
- Monday 27 August – Sunday 2nd September: Pirate week
Pirate themed activities including pirate crafts, make your own pirate hat, cutlass and eye-patch.
- Wicked Wednesday 29 August: Walks with Hawks
Display of live Birds of Prey in the Museum (11.30am). Steam Crane and Fielding Engine running.
