Geology Trail WalkSoudley, Cinderford, Gloucestershire, GL14 2UA - Two hour walk covering geology, quarrying and iron mining in the Forest of Dean. Uneven walking in most parts. Meet at Soudley Memorial Hall.

ColefordAll Saints Church and the Nova TerraNewland, Coleford, Gloucestershire, GL16 8NP - Newland has been fortunate in the happy survival of its historic buildings ranged about the large churchyard like a cathedral close, no wonder the large spacious parish church has been called "The Cathedral of the Forest".
- Christie Arno will give an introduction to the history of this small settlement carved out of the royal forest around about the late C12 .

Darkhill FurnaceGorsty Knolll, Coleford, Gloucestershire, GL16 7LR - First built by David Mushet in 1811. He carried out experimentals in iron making. His son used the foundary to experiment in steel making in large quantities. He made the first steel alloys.

Tan HouseLaundry Lane, Newland, Coleford, Gloucestershire, GL16 8NQ - An interesting 17th Century "post-restoration" house, (of Charles II that is!) Built by a prosperous tanner, it was described as a premium tannery in the kingdom by the 19th Century it had become a farm house.

Verderers CourtSpeech House Hotel, Speech House Road, Coleford, Gloucestershire, GL16 7EL - The Verderers are the sole remnant of the organisational structure developed after Norman times to administer Forest Law - introduced to provide for beasts of the forest, in particular deer and boar, and for the protection of their habitat. It is the oldest court in the British Isles.

LydneyLydney Harbour, Harbour Road, Lydney, Gloucestershire, GL15 5ET - From Roman times through the Industrial Revolution and well into the 20th Century, Lydney Harbour has been a conerstone of the River Severn's heritage.

St Mary's ChurchChurch Road, Lydney, Gloucestershire, GL15 5EG - Church fete held in vicarage garden, which is located next to the parish church.

St Michael's ChurchMitcheldean, Gloucestershire, GL17 0HN - One of the most interesting churches in the forest with a modern East window depicting St Michael and the Devil, plus many other interesting features.

NewentDymock Poets Walk: 8 september - Dymock Poets WalkDymock Church, Newent, Gloucestershire, GL18 2BP
- A 2 hour walk with 2 short presentations on the Dymock Poets. Refreshment stop halfway at Garland Hut, which is an interpretation centre for the Poets.

Herefordshire & Gloucestershire Canal Trust - Oxenhall LockOxehall Lock and Lock Cottage, Winters Lane, Oxenhall, Newent, Gloucestershire, GL18 1RL
- Description: Volunteers will be on site to talk about the restoration of the lock and the ongoing restoration of the aqueduct.
