Easter events at Gloucester Museums

The ever popular reptile handling sessions will be run throughout the holidays, at both the city museum and folk museum. Chester the Burmese python will be on hand ready to lie around the shoulders of those who are feeling brave.

Also, professional magician Kerry Scorah is back to teach young wannabe-magicians a trick or two in the magic workshops for children. Afternoon workshops will be running for those wanting to learn some more complex magic tricks to stun their family and friends.

For those feeling crafty, workshops for children will take place at both museums, from knocking up a felt dinosaur to creating a pansy brooch these sessions are a fantastic way to help children get creative.

Cllr Paul James, Leader of Gloucester City Council said, “I especially recommend a visit to the Roman chamber under Eastgate Street, it’s a real must-see if you haven’t been before. With reptiles, magicians and craft workshops there’s plenty to keep the family entertained at our city museums this Easter.

“Remember, just one admission fee now gives you a whole year’s unlimited access to both the city and folk museum, so all these fantastic events will be right at your fingertips.”

Museum members can gain free admission to the reptile handling sessions and can book onto the Easter chamber tours free of charge.
