Picture this – Atomic Blondie to rock Corn Hall
The Phoenix Festival has joined forces with the Kings Head Hotel to bring music back to the Corn Hall with one of Europe’s leading Blondie tribute bands – Atomic Blondie.
The concert, which will take place on Saturday 7 May, will be the first in the refurbished Corn Hall, with its vaulted Victorian ceilings, since it reopened in 2008.
Atomic Blondie, the headline act, has been described as ‘Electric’ by Kiss FM. Covering all our old favourites from Picture this to Sunday girl this exciting tribute band will also be supported by the Phoenix All Stars - a group of well-known Cirencester musicians including Cirencester’s Mayor, Mark Harris.
The concert is already shaping up to be a sell-out with tickets playing an important role in helping raise funds for the fourth Phoenix festival taking place in the Abbey Grounds, Cirencester on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th August.
Glen Moreman, Festival Organiser confirmed, “The events running up to this year’s Brit pop themed Phoenix festival serve as important reminder of the sheer pleasure we get from live music, as well as delivering on the more serious objective of fund raising. The money from the pre-festival build-up events will make all the difference to ensuring Cirencester keeps its free music festival and ensuring that it is even better at meeting the needs of our local community.”
