Cotswold Wildlife Park announces its annual charity dog show
Cotswold Wildlife Park's annual charity dog show Scruffs returns on Saturday 14th May 2016. Please bring your dog(s) along to the Park and help raise money for Dogs for Good (previously known as Dogs for the Disabled). The charity trains dogs that can offer freedom and independence to children and adults with physical disabilities and children with autism. Dogs for Good will be attending on the day with their training dogs. Cotswold Wildlife Park is proud to be supporting this charity for the third year running.
Registration for classes is compulsory and cost £2.00 per dog. Please enter as many classes as you wish. All money raised from the dog show will be donated to Dogs for Good.
- Class 1 - Waggiest Tail
- Class 2 - Prettiest Eyes
- Class 3 - Young Handler (children 12 and under –one of last year’s entrants pictured right.)
- Class 4 - Best Puppy (dogs under 10 months)
- Class 5 - Golden Oldie (dogs over 8 years)
- Class 6 - Best Biscuit Catcher
1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each class wins a rosette. 1st place winners from each class will receive a Cotswold Wildlife Park goody bad and qualify for the Best in Show class at the end of the event. The winner of Best in Show will win a champion rosette and an animal adoption from the Park's Adoption scheme for 12 months (http://www.cotswoldwildlifepark.co.uk/get-involved/adoptions). Registration is between 10.30am - 1pm in front of the Manor House.
The dog show commences at 2pm in front of the Manor House.
Cotswold Wildlife Park has been a dog friendly attraction from the day it first opened in 1970 and has been the proud recipient of the Kennel Club’s prestigious Be Dog Friendly Award for Most Dog Friendly Day Out in the UK for two years running.
Normal admission price applies for dog owners. Dog owners must enter the classes during the registration period (10.30am- 1pm) in order to take part in the competition.
Dogs for Good receive no government funding and rely entirely on donations, fundraising and volunteers to continue their pioneering work. You can find more about the charity at www.dogsforgood.org
