Gloucester Cathedral Tower lights up red to mark launch of 2016 Poppy Appeal

Poppy Appeal 2016

The Tower of Gloucester Cathedral will light up red from Monday 24 October to Sunday 13 November in support of the Royal British Legion's 2016 Poppy Appeal.

It will remain lit red until Remembrance Sunday and all are welcome to attend the Annual County Remembrance Service at the Cathedral at 3.00pm, when Gloucestershire gathers to recall all those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Attending the service will be Civic Dignitaries, members of the Royal British Legion, Royal Naval Association, Gloucester Sea Cadets, serving and ex-members of the Armed Forces. Following the service at approximately 4.30pm a parade will form up outside the Cathedral before being led by the Standard Bearers on a march through the streets of Gloucester.
