Double whammy of artistic talent for the Dean Heritage Centre Gallery
Open now until Saturday 3rd November 2012, visitors to the Dean Heritage Centre (DHC) have the opportunity to see not one but two art exhibitions in the Forest based gallery. Local artists David Brindley and Adrian Dymond will be sharing the gallery space in order to display their individual and unique artworks.
David Brindley’s work focuses on Forest of Dean landscapes which he has recreated using the medium of watercolour. He hopes the viewer will enjoy studying his paintings, recognising many of the local scenes. His work can stir emotions, recall fond memories and prompt pleasant reactions.
Commenting on his exhibition, David said: “I’m thrilled to display at the DHC, a place at the very centre of the work I portray.”
Alongside David Brinsley's work, Adrian Dymond has installed a thought provoking new exhibition entitled, ‘Expressions and Impressions’. The paintings have been created in response to emotions, personal events and other stimuli such as music and poetry. His works include examples of psychological expressionism, abstract expressionism and landscapes.
Adrian grew up in Cinderford and left the forest to pursue a career in secondary education. Remarking on his exhibition, he said: “Although I no longer live in the forest, I still enjoy visiting and return to it often. It’s great to be exhibiting at the centre as I have spent a great deal of time there.” Adrian returns regularly to the DHC as a volunteer researcher in the Centre’s Gage Library.
Entry to the ‘David Brindley Watercolours’ and ‘Expressions and Impressions’ exhibitions are included in the DHC’s admission fees. Why not come down and see these two contrasting artists in one space.
