South West Tourism Award ‘finalist’ status for the Dean Heritage Centre!

The Dean Heritage Centre (DHC) has been commended as a finalist in the South West Tourism Awards for 2012!

The judges were hugely impressed by what the DHC had to offer visitors, including the highly acclaimed Gruffalo woodland trail, interactive activities and a jam packed events programme and have awarded the centre ‘Finalist’ status.

Robin Barker from Services for Tourism said:
‘The panel was not comparing good against bad, but excellent against outstanding, and to have made it thus far is a huge achievement, especially in England’s top region for tourism!’

‘Finalist’ status is only awarded to a few entrants in categories where the judges had the toughest of decisions.

PR manager, Harri Le Claire commented on the award:
“We are thrilled to be awarded finalist status. It gives credit to all of the staff and volunteers who have been involved in organising a fantastic range of events and exhibitions and truly puts the DHC on the map as a leading attraction in Gloucestershire.’

The DHC hopes to continue its success with bigger and better events for 2013. These will include the Gruffalo’s Child Trail which will open for Easter, a Dennis Potter celebration weekend, the annual Fire and Wood Festival and much more besides.
