Whats on in Tewkesbury 2008?2008 events in Tewkesbury and the Severn Vale won't disappoint you.
Tewkesbury holds a wealth of festivals throughout 2008. May sees
the arrival of two festivals; 'Tewkesbury Food and Drink Festival 2008' and 'Awaken your Senses 2008'.
Taking place at either end of the month May 2008 these festivals involve the
town and really are a treat not to be missed. The 'Tewkesbury Food and Drink Festival' showcases local and regional fayre from sausages and chocolate
to wines and beers. 'Awaken your Senses' is a delight for the town with
many different types of music, dance, theatre and exhibitions taking
place at various venues around Tewkesbury. The 'Tewkesbury Medieval Festival 2008' takes place in July on
and around the “bloody meadow”, the site of the infamous Battle of
Tewkesbury. An atmospheric festival with re-enactments, traditional
food, dancing and singing. Tewkesbury in September 2008 is a celebration of our rivers and
watery heritage with the 'Tewkesbury Water Festival 2008' taking place, and October sees
the traditional 'Mop Fair' take over the main streets for two days. Like
all areas, Tewkesbury too has its own Christmas Lights Festival which
enlightens the town in November giving the buildings a wonderfully
festive feel. Explore and enjoy!
