The Forest Model Village in the Forest of Dean

The Forest Model Village is an inspiring and fun place to take children of all ages. |
About the Forest Model VillageOne mile south of Lydney on the A48 is the Forest Model Village. This project started several years ago, with the challenge of creating a magical visitor attraction to showcase the humour of the Royal Forest of Dean and Wye Valley folk. The project was taken over in 2008 and will continue to expand and evolve throughout each year, so no two visits will ever be the same. In a shady glade, discover distinctive areas themed with humour and mischief, including a new topographical “Forest of Dean’ area in miniature, and a ‘Giant’ area based on Forest themes and folklore. The gardens are populated by six inch high ‘forest folk’ going about their everyday business against a miniature backdrop of one twelfth scale (1 inch to a foot!) replicas of local buildings and landmarks. A popular miniature Railway steams around the model areas laden with wood and minerals.
