The Moon Exhibition at the Museum of Gloucester

Get a little closer to our nearest neighbour when The Moon Exhibition comes to the Museum of Gloucester this summer!

Running from Saturday 29 June to Saturday 21 September, make sure you don’t miss this wonderful exhibition at the museum, in the 50th anniversary year of the Moon landings…

To compliment this fantastic exhibition of all things ‘Moon', an exciting and entertaining Moon programme of events will include music and dance, poetry and storytelling, art and workshops, talks and lectures, Virtual Reality sessions, Lego workshops and kid’s crafts, quiet time at the museum and private tours. Plus watch out for our a special Cinema Saturday, showing a selection of space themed films over the summer for adults and kids alike!
 
Some of the items in the exhibition include:

  • An inflatable 3m moon!
  • Gods, mythology and astronomy
  • Original Moon maps
  • Lunar rock samples
  • Rocket models, modules and computers
  • A replica space suit!
  • Original Newspapers from the day of the Moon landings
  • Fun interactive zone
  • Space costume dress up
  • Reading corner
