Transmutation II at Gloucester City Museum & Art Gallery

Transmutation II At Gloucester City Museum & Art Gallery

Are you brave enough?

That’s the challenge that is being thrown down by staff at the Gloucester City Museum & Art Gallery in advance of a new exhibition that launches next week.

The eagerly awaited ‘Transmutation II’ is a collection of intriguing humanoid creatures from the emerging international creature effects artist Michaela Bayley.

It’s only the second time the exhibition has been staged and it is expected to raise a lot of interest. And unusually for the museum – due to the nature of the exhibits – it has an age classification of ‘12A’.

The exhibition is being promoted with posters and radio advertising and challenges potential visitors to:
‘Immerse yourself in an exhibition of stunning fantastical creatures…..if you dare!’

The exhibition of life sized creatures, masks and visuals comes complete with sound effects and a light pool.

Council Leader, Paul James, commented: “ I think this is one of the most exciting exhibitions we have staged at the museum. I expect it to be very popular and I am sure people will find it interesting and challenging.

“We pride ourselves on the variety of what we offer at our museums and Transmutation II is certainly very different from anything our visitors will have seen before.”

The exhibition launches on Tuesday June 25 at the museum in Brunswick Road. Entry charges are - Adults £3, Concessions (over 60s and children aged 5-17) £2, under 5s free – parental discretion is advised.  Free to members.
