Attractions announced for The Cotswold Show 2014
This year’s Cotswold Show on 5 and 6 July at Cirencester Park will once again be a jam-packed weekend.
Back by popular demand is the Monster Truck display with Big Pete. Their size and sheer power for crushing cars are definitely a crowd favourite and a huge hit with children.
Other Bathurst Arena acts include the fun and frenetic Shetland Pony Grand National, with the qualifying round for the world famous Olympia Horse Show being held at the Show. The Quack Pack will showcase the agility of Border Collies in a sheepdog display with Indian Runner ducks, providing an entertaining, educational and interactive demonstration.
The Apsley Arena will once again be the centre of countryside pursuits including a display of working horses, gundog training and sheep shearing. New this year is a fascinating display of bushcraft skills.
Also on the 100 acre site will be a Falconry Village with 30 birds of prey in stunning aerial displays, a Living Working Countryside area with demonstrations of traditional crafts, clay pigeon shooting, a scurry and lots more.
Fun for children will include go-karts, giant inflatables, trampolines and tree climbing.
Dogs are once again welcome to the show and even have their own activities including an agility course, scurry and fun dog show.
Other animals include rare breeds from Butts Farm, an area displaying all aspects of farming alpacas and a fascinating new attraction for horse lovers from the Parelli SevernsideSavvy Team – teaching owners how to be their own horse’s trainer.
And there is more to come with an announcement due shortly about a brand new food festival at the Show.
Lord Bathurst, Show Chairman, and host of the event says: “2013 was an excellent year for us with amazing weather and new access arrangements which worked very well. While we can’t guarantee the weather again, we will do all we can to make the 2014 Show a great day out for the whole family and hopefully give the public an insight into some very interesting and important countryside activities.”
Early bird tickets, with big discounts on the gate price, are now on sale via the Show’s website. Family tickets are just £28 for 2 adults and up to 3 children, adult tickets are just £10 and children (3-14 years) are £5. Under 3s are free.
