It’s all ‘Hotsy-totsy’ at the City Museum

Events at Gloucester City Museum

Following on from the frenzy surrounding Downtown Abbey and the increase in people’s love for all things twenties – the latest evening event at the City Museum is sure to be a hit.

On Saturday 7th June the City Museum on Brunswick Road will be transformed for a ‘Roaring Twenties’ evening event for all the family.

From 6pm- 9pm those visiting the stunning building will experience the style and sounds of the twenties, along with trails and craft activities for children and hands-on objects from the museum.

To help get that real feeling of being transported back in time to a visit to the museum and art gallery in the 1920s, staff are asking visitors to get into the theme by dressing for the period.

Councillor Paul James, Leader Gloucester City Council said: “The museums staff always go to town on their special events and I am sure that this one will be spectacular.

“During the 1920s the building was already being used as a city museum and art gallery so it really will be like being transported back in time for the families who attend.”

Tickets are priced at Adults £5, Concessions (children aged 5-17 and over 60s) £3, Family ticket £12 (admitting up to 2 adults and 3 children), available online or by phoning (01452) 396868.
