Bigger & better Gift & Craft Fair at Nature in Art this November!

Craft Fair at Nature inArt

The hotly anticipated fundraising event for Nature in Art is just around the corner and this year it is on track to be the biggest and we hope the most successful one to date.

Back in 2013, we had just over 30 stallholders for our gift & craft fair and managed to match our most successful fundraising records which took place in 2009. But this year, on Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd November, there will be just over 50 stalls for visitors to choose from. The event is set to break new ground and to be a thoroughly enjoyable day for all.

Stalls for 2014 will include: woodturning, jewellery, ceramics, textile items, as well as stained glassware, metal work, paper crafts and leatherwork. Not to mention vintage inspired, indoor plants, paintings, locally produced soap and so much more.
A full list of stallholders can be found on our website:

Uniquely to Nature in Art, we ask many of our stallholders to actively demonstrate how they make their products during the weekend. This helps to inspire our shoppers and shows them that they are buying something unique, original and handmade, not to mention locally produced in Gloucestershire!

This year we have the following stallholders who will be demonstrating:

  • Jean Smith - quilting (Glos. based)
  • Sue Smith - felting (Glos. based)
  • Phil Yerburgh - woodturning (Glos. based)
  • Grahame Tucker - wood sculpting (Glos. based)
  • Yvonne Halton - ceramics
  • Jade Grant-Evans - leather work (Glos. based)
  • Liz Falconer - glasswork (Glos. based)
  • Janet Sims - needlefelting
  • Leatherwise - leather work
  • Ron Swanwick - painting (Glos. based)

PLUS Severn Cider return, offering taster samples of their locally produced beverages.

Walks with Hawks also return with their birds of prey to add to the family element we try to weave into the fair. This year Anoushka our education officer will be hosting a fun christmas fairy art activity for children to try during their family visit.

Unlike previous years, we have made our outdoor space available to stallholders, this has given the potential for even more quality stalls to attend our gift & craft fair. So expect to see an array of marquees in our sculptor garden to entice shoppers in!

We are dedicated to supporting local producers, who make and sell unique and personal gifts. There are a number of stallholders who this year will be attending our fair for the first time, they include Gloucestershire based:

Penelope Menato, who is the owner of Rosablue and produces handmade gifts, fabrics and household accessories

Tracy Sheldon and her unique handmade textile jewellery, which use vintage silk fabrics, ribbons and silver charms to achieve her desired look.

Laura Owen, owner of, who specialising in 'growing gifts', making the household plant look amazing in her well thoughts out displays!

Crucially for our gift & craft fair to run smoothly and successfully we rely on our team of 50 volunteers who kindly give up their Saturday or Sunday, mornings and afternoons to man one of our fundraising stalls. (They include, raffle, tombola, books, cake, education and the extra admissions desk.)

It is also through their behind the scenes donations that our stalls are packed full of items for us to sell and to help raise the funds that support our independently run, none government funded museum and art gallery.
