The Very Hungry Caterpillar is coming to the Forest of Dean

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is coming to the Forest of Dean

Saturday 2 May - Monday 4 May will be a hive of fun, adventures and activities as the Dean Heritage Centre (DHC) launches its new woodland activity trail the much loved The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The launch weekend will have a family fete feel, with bouncy castle, face-painting, stalls, workshops, the official Eric the caterpillar making regular appearances and lots lots more to keep all the family entertained. The world’s most read children’s books is brought to life with this fully interactive woodland trail, leapfrog the Plums, jump the Oranges, crawl through the cocoon or just admire the beautiful carvings.

Mark Clancy Centre Manager says “We are extremely excited to be launching this new woodland trail, the trail is the first of its kind in the UK and we are very proud that the author Eric Carle granted us permission. The carvings are all skilfully carved by our onsite carvers using Costal Redwood. We also are in contention to hold a world record for the biggest carved caterpillar. The launch weekend over the May day bank holiday will be fun filled for all with stalls, bouncy castles, workshops, and visits from the official caterpillar and lots more”.
