This Weekend: bigger & better Gift & Craft Fair at Nature in Art

Crfat weekend at Nature in Art

The hotly anticipated fundraising event for Nature in Art is just around the corner and this year it is on track to be one of the biggest and we hope the most successful to date.

Back in 2014, we managed to break all fundraising records for the museum. This year, on Saturday 31st October & Sunday 1st November, there will be 46 stalls for visitors to choose from. The event is set to one again highlight local craftsmen and women and be a thoroughly enjoyable day for all.

Stalls for 2015 will include: woodturning, jewellery, ceramics, textile items, as well as stained glassware, metal work, paper crafts and leatherwork. Not to mention indoor plants, paintings, locally produced soap and so much more.

A full list of stallholders can be found on our website (see link below)

Uniquely to Nature in Art, we ask many of our stallholders to actively demonstrate how they make their products during the weekend. This helps to inspire our shoppers and shows them that they are buying something unique, original and handmade, not to mention locally produced in Gloucestershire!

This year we have the following stallholders who will be demonstrating:

Sue Smith - felting (glos based)
Leatherwise - leather work
Hannah Brown - knitting (glos based)
Peter Calvesbert - clay modelling
Kerry Jane Page - artist (glos based)
Tom Shepherd - artist
Karen Green - artist (glos based)
Severn Cider- providing free samples! (glos based)

Unlike previous years, we have made our outdoor space available to stallholders, this has given the potential for even more quality stalls to attend our gift & craft fair. So expect to see an array of marquees in our sculptor garden to entice shoppers in!

We are dedicated to supporting local producers, who make and sell unique and personal gifts. There are a number of stallholders who this year will be attending our fair for the first time, they include Gloucestershire based:

Hannah Brown, based in Cheltenham, produces homemade knitware, including scarves, hats and accessories.
Linda Kember, based in Stonehouse, creates her own papercraft products, including notebooks and gift tags.
Steve Wilcox, based in Quedgeley, produces his own wooden gifts, including mirrors, keyrings, boxes and more.

Crucially for our gift & craft fair to run smoothly and successfully we rely on our team of 50 volunteers who kindly give up their Saturday or Sunday, mornings and afternoons to man one of our fundraising stalls. (They include, raffle, tombola, books, cake, education and the extra admissions desk.)

It is also through their behind the scenes donations that our stalls are packed full of items for us to sell and to help raise the funds that support our independently run, none government funded museum and art gallery.
