£1 Evening Rider Ticket over Valentine's Weekend with Stagecoach West

£1 Evening Rider Ticket over Valentine's Weekend with Stagecoach West

Leave The Car at Home: Local Bus Operator Offering £1 Evening Rider Ticket Over Valentine’s Weekend!

Working together with The Road Safety Partnership in Gloucestershire, Stagecoach West is running a promotion whereby its evening rider companion fare is available at the reduced rate of just £1 each evening between 6pm on Friday the 12th, Saturday 13th and Sunday the 14th of February, when purchased with a full-price evening rider. Those out celebrating the romantic time of year will be able to take advantage of the offer and leave their cars at home so that they can indulge in a celebratory glass of bubbles if they so wish.

Local bus operator Stagecoach West has announced that it will be running an evening rider companion fare promotion over the Valentine's weekend where passengers can travel on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening for just £1, when purchased with a full-price evening rider. The ticket can be used as many times as the passenger wishes within their ticket zone on the same evening it is bought, meaning that all return travel is included in the initial £1 price. This move is part of a wider safety campaign that the bus operator is undertaking to keep the roads safe, in collaboration with The Road Safety Partnership.

The evening rider typically begins at 7pm and normally costs between £2.20 and £3.20, but over the Valentine’s weekend it will come into effect from 6pm to fit around people's plans and the times when they may be heading out for dinner or drinks. The promotion will be running in Gloucester, Cheltenham, between Gloucester & Cheltenham and in Swindon, but isn’t valid on the N94 service.

The newly launched website is more user-friendly than ever before and is now optimised for mobile, ideal for those on the go. Passengers can find a bus, locate a timetable and plan their journey all at www.stagecoachbus.com.

This is part of a wider Valentine’s campaign that Stagecoach is running; with a competition having also been launched whereby one lucky winner can win a day’s use of the Vintage Routemaster, with further prizes up for grabs including weekly and monthly travel tickets and Valentine’s chocolate hampers. All passengers have to do is keep their eyes open for a special Cupid window on Stagecoach buses, snap a picture of their view through it and tweet it to @Stagecoach_West with the hashtag #StagecoachValentine. The competition closes on Monday 29th February.

Orlaith Palmer, Marketing Manager for Stagecoach West, commented:
“Couples love to get out and about over Valentine’s weekend, whether they’re going for dinner and drinks or to the cinema, and we want to remind members of the local community to stay safe and use public transport if there’s a chance that they may be drinking alcohol. Drink driving is a serious offence and is not worth risk, to yourself and others.

“We’re getting some fantastic entries through for the #StagecoachValentine competition that we’re running and love seeing all of the pictures that are being submitted. The competition doesn’t close for a few more weeks and we’re hoping that many more passengers will get involved – can you imagine turning up to pick up your loved one in our Vintage Routemaster?"
