Community weekend at the Dean Heritage Centre 25 - 26 March

Community weekend at the Dean Heritage Centre 25 - 26 March

On Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of March 2017 the Dean Heritage Centre will be opening its doors for the exclusive price of £1 admission per person.

To celebrate National Tourism week the team at the Dean Heritage Centre invite you to visit during our community weekend to take advantage of this exclusive entry price of £1.00 per person.

All visitors can discover the history of the Forest of Dean from the Ice Age to the present day in the centre’s five museum galleries; along with exploring a range of other attractions including a reconstructed Forester’s cottage, Victorian schoolroom, charcoal burner’s camp and themed woodland trail featuring the Gruffalo story.

Emma Smith, Centre Manager for the Dean Heritage Centre comments “as both a locally born forester and the manager of The Dean Heritage Centre I am extremely proud of team and the independent charitable Trust which run the Dean Heritage Centre.  Established by the local community, the organisation is now in a time of transition, adjusting from the loss of public funding in 2014.  It is very important to myself and the team that our community feel both part of, and proud of, the work this charitable trust undertakes to protect and promote the unique heritage of the Forest of Dean. The team welcome the opportunity to invite our community to comment on what the DHC means to them, as this will enable us to grow and develop our organisation in line with the needs and wishes of our community.”
The Dean Heritage Centre is open from 10am until 4pm during the community weekend with last entry by 3pm each day. For more information about the Dean Heritage Centre, visit the website.
