The Corinium Sessions: An Exciting Musical Fundraiser
The Friends of Corinium Museum will be holding a musical fundraiser in aid of “Stone Age to Corinium” an exciting project to create new Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age and Early Roman Galleries, as well as an inspiring garden space and a dedicated “hands-on” Discovery Centre at the Corinium Museum in Cirencester.
The Corinium Museum galleries and mosaics will provide a truly unique backdrop to the sounds of local artists in what promises to be a fantastic one of a kind evening. Guests will be able to explore the whole museum whilst four fantastic acoustic acts provide harmonies to accompany the heritage.
The Unsung Roots bring local history and legend to life with their compositions. The wonderful Ethemia provide beautiful harmonies and fabulous songs. Daniel Billing brings intricate stories to life with his original music. Finally the mesmerizing Tanis whose unique voice really is something special. All this whilst being able to explore the internationally important collections of the Corinium Museum.
The evening will take place on the 30th of June, 7pm at Corinium Museum. Tickets cost £10 (or £9 for Museum season ticket holders) and along with four musical acts will provide access to the museum galleries. Tickets are available from the Cirencester Visitor Information Centre in the Museum or can be purchased over the phone on 01285 654180. There will be a licensed bar and under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult. All proceeds from the event will go to the Stone Age to Corinium project.

The Corinium Museum has embarked on an exciting £1.3 million project – “Stone Age to Corinium: Discover the Archaeology of the Cotswolds” and has been successful in securing support from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The aims are to create a museum that is more relevant to today’s communities, maximising on the building spaces, enhancing the visitor journey through reinterpretation and improved access, and working with new partners to produce a vibrant programme of archaeology related events and activities, which will help to make the museum more resilient and sustainable.
