NEW Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival in June 2008

Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival June 2008 Gloucestershire in 2008 is welcomed by another superb culinary delight when Cheltenham plays host to the first Food & Drink Festival in the Regency town since the Great British Cheese Festival back in 2006.

The action-packed, fun-filled weekend of the Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival 2008, takes place from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 June 2008, in the famous Montpellier Gardens in - a spectacular setting for an event of this calibre.

The Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival 2008 hopes to strengthen the less commercial side of farm produce, where fertilisers and poisons are not used and focusing on farms which are farms, not factories, and where the food and produce on display at the 130 plus stalls will be organic and ethically correct.

The traders will be descending upon Cheltenham from not only within Gloucestershire but from all over the country and Europe. Stalls include the likes of traditional cheesemakers selling prize-winning range of farmhouse cheeses, fresh handmade gourmet fishcakes all the way from Devon, quality ice creams, Mediterranean delicacies, naturally-reared meat, herbs and spices, wonderful bacons and sausages, preserves, pickles and chutneys, smoked and cured produce, vegetarian and nutty delights as well as unique cooking essentials, kitchenware and home products.

A food and drink festival wouldn't be complete without some fine wines, beers, ciders and spirits including twenty plus breweries and cider makers serving up a mixture of classic scrumpy and real ales. For the non-participants of alcohol there are numerous non-alcoholic drinks on offer, such as cordials and fresh fruit drinks with many unique fruit flavours.

The 2008 Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival will also be featuring three useful arenas for displays and demonstrations.

There's the Cotswold Kitchen Theatre, where top TV celebrity chefs, 'The Two Hairy Bikers' will be displaying their creative cooking, as well as other local chefs from leading restaurants in Gloucestershire.

You can also consult a panel of real ale and cider experts in the Real Ale Theatre and interact with the owners and staff of the local breweries and at the Fine Wine Theatre you can learn more about the world of wine with tasting sessions, storage and opening advise and lots more too.

The not to be missed Cheltenham Food & Drinks Festival 2008 starts at 10am on Friday 20 June 2008.
