Rhino Month at Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens

Rhino Month at Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens

Throughout August the Cotswold Wildlife Park aims to highlight awareness and funds for the Tusk Trust; an organisation set up to help protect African wildlife and halt the decline of one of Africa’s most famous wild residents.

The Parks' keepers will be undertaking daily talks at 2pm near the Rhino Paddock about these magnificent animals, the threats and the conservation work that is going on to try and protect them for future generations.

Cotswold Wildlife Park has been very successful in breeding Rhinos and over the past year has welcomed two new arrivals. Alan was born in October 2017 and Bella made her debut at the Park in March this year.

Bella became the first hand reared calf at the park after requiring veterinary intervention for a twisted leg shortly after her birth Click here for further details of her treatment.

Bella has made a good recovery and although reunited with her mother still requires bottle feeding and still loves her milk. She currently drinks 40 litres a day over 3 feeds by her keepers and now weighs a whopping 580kg. You can see Bella enjoying her milk here.

Cotswold Park Park and Gardens is open daily throughout August from 10am.
