Roses Theatre Panto News - Cast Cabaret Evening Announced

Roses Theatre Panto News - Cast Cabaret Evening Announced

The cast of The Roses Theatre’s pantomime, Dick Whittington, are delighted to announce that they will be performing a very special one-off cabaret evening on Friday 28 December at 8.30pm, with all proceeds being donated to the theatre.

Since arriving in Tewkesbury in mid-November, the cast and crew have spent the majority of their waking time together and have quickly become firm friends. Whilst chatting in the pub one evening during some downtime, conversation turned to their genuine love for Tewkesbury and its theatre, and discussions began about how they could do something extra to help The Roses’ fundraising efforts.

Ben Eagle, who plays Sarah The Cook, says:
“We have a really talented cast this year with amazing singing voices. Doing the panto is such a joy, but we were talking about how nice it’d be to sing a different song for a change, or perform a speech or famous silly sketch… The conversation in the pub made me think how wonderful it would be to “show off” some of the cast’s talents whilst raising much-needed support for the theatre. We’ve all had such a great time so far and thoroughly enjoy working at The Roses, so it’s our little way of supporting a lovely venue.”

The cabaret evening will feature well-known songs, dance routines, familiar sketches, a sing-a-long, a special performance from the crew and an auction featuring some very exciting lots including the chance to appear for one night only on-stage with the cast in the Panto in a specially written, featured role.

Other lots include a personal answerphone message featuring the voice of Mr Derek Frood (if you’ve seen him as King Rat you’ll understand…), signed posters/programmes, tickets for a show at The Roses, backstage tours led by one of the cast and photos with the cast after a show.

The entire cast and crew are giving their time completely freely for this event, meaning that 100% of monies raised will go towards The Roses.
Hannah Kester, The Roses’ Director, says:
“It has been a real pleasure working with the cast and crew of Dick Whittington and we are delighted that they want to support our fundraising campaign here at The Roses. This special evening will really showcase their exceptional talents - it will be a lot of fun, there will be a lot of surprises and tickets are going to go quickly so don't miss out!”

Tickets for Let It Snow, Let It Snow!, on Friday 28 December at 8.30pm, cost £10 each and are available from Box Office on 01684 295074 or online at www.rosestheatre.org
