A glowing start to the half-term holiday in Cheltenham

Observation wheel in Cheltenham

Visitors to Cheltenham will be treated to a magical illuminated juggling act on Saturday February 16 as part of Light Up Cheltenham.

The Photon Glow Show, a duo of acrobatic jugglers, will brighten up the town even more as they perform outside the new John Lewis and Partners store on Cheltenham High Street from 5pm.

The pair will be joined by live singer, Bethany Goodman, as she treats the crowds to some favourite songs from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, as well as some well-loved theatre music.

Light Up Cheltenham has seen hundreds of people come to town to snap some amazing pictures of the town’s historic Regency buildings lit up in splendid colour.

BID Operations Manager, Belinda Hunt, said: “We have seen some incredibly beautiful pictures shared across social media, showing the world what a stunning town Cheltenham is.”

The giant observation wheel, which has proved very popular both during the daytime and at night, will be open for extended hours during the half-term holiday.

From Monday February 22 the wheel will open at noon and close at 9pm with extended hours over the weekend, when it will be open until 10pm on the Friday and from 11am until 10pm on Saturday February 16. A ten-minute ride will cost just £5 for an adult, £4 for a child and a family ticket is £15.
