Lechlade Festival announces Sofar collaboration

Lechlade Festival 2019

Lechlade Festival organisers have announced a collaboration with Sofar Sounds Swindon, adding an exciting 5th stage to the boutique music festival.

Taking place over the late May bank holiday weekend from 24th – 26th May, Lechlade Festival is now in its 9th year and is expecting to welcome over 6,500 visitors to the family friendly event.
Already boasting the Renishaw Main Stage, Yuasa Stage, Edward Bays Comedy Stage and bar stage, the 3-day festival will see a new stage added, curated by the Swindon team of the global Sofar movement.

Promoting intimate gigs around the world, Sofar transforms everyday spaces into captivating venues for secret, live shows, creating an immersive experience bringing guests and artists closer together.  Lechlade will be no exception, the Sofar team are keeping the design of their performance space under wraps for now and are soon to announce their line-up.

“We’re really excited to be working with the Sofar Sounds Swindon”, said Jennie Rainsford, founder and Festival Director.  “the Sofar brand came to our attention a few years ago and we have seen more and more online applications from bands and performers at Sofar gigs in quirky and unusual places.  Hopefully we can recreate that intimate vibe in the space we’re planning with the Swindon Sofar team.”

This year’s festival headliners include British rock band The Feeling, electro-swing, ragtime band Rob Heron and The Tea Pad Orchestra and the return of That 80s Rock Show.  Friday sees top tribute bands The Marley Experience, Tasha Leaper as Madonna and Faux Fighters getting the party started.

Families can enjoy free workshops and activities, including yoga, a play tent, circus skills, flamenco, zumba and more.  Fabulous food, real ales, stalls and rides complete the weekend.

Children 16 and under go free, whether camping or visiting for the day.

Early Bird Tickets are available until 31st March, with extra discounts for locals.
