The Forest of Dean Family Trail is, quite literally, the perfect place in Gloucestershire for a day out with the family or a gentle cycle with friends in the great outdoors. It’s a beautifully tranquil place to spend your spare time. It’s safe too.. the 11 mile (17km), traffic-free trail explores the quieter parts of the forest, using old mining railway tracks and forest roads.
If you’re lucky you may spot some of the resident wild boar and roe deer populations, or even an elusive goshawk, before descending to the picnic spots at Mallards Pike and back to the cycle centre.
Pedalabikeaway have a massive range of bikes of all shapes and sizes, plus all the accessories (including kids seats, tagalongs, trailers and electric bikes) to ensure the whole family can get out and enjoy the forest together. Their great café welcomes muddy bikers, noisy kids and soggy dogs – and the on-site bikeshop and workshop has everything you need for a great day out in the Forest.
