Summer Jam is back with a bang at The Brewery Quarter, Cheltenham

The Brewery Quarter’s Summer Jam

Building on the success of previous years, the festival has been extended from two to three days and will run from Friday 2nd August until Sunday 4th August at Cheltenham’s no.1 lifestyle destination.

Now in its fourth year, Summer Jam is set to roll out three brilliant days of live music and dancing, fantastic food and delicious drinks as well as fun for all the family. With tenants getting into the festival spirit with exclusive outside offers and entertaining activities, the three-day event brings the best summer vibes to the heart of Cheltenham.

Marketing Manager for The Brewery Quarter, Demelsa Coleman, said: “Summer Jam is without doubt one of our favourite events, we love it so much that this year we’re getting the party started a whole day earlier.  We are kicking off on Friday at 5pm with a heady mix of jazz, funk and hip hop on our main stage with supporting acts in The Botanist, Brewhouse and Kitchen, Cosy Club and Babel over the weekend.

“Last year we welcomed more than 30,000 people, so with an extra day this year we’re hoping to share the fun with a lot more. We can’t wait to soak up the summer vibes and enjoy a fantastic weekend.”

The Summer Jam Festival starts at 5pm on Friday 2nd August and finishes at 9.30pm. Popular local songstress Camilla Lewington will open the festival with her eclectic dance vibe, Ben Cipolla and the Nouvelle House Band then take to the stage with their smooth pop, jazz and soul vocals, and finally local hip hop heroes JPDL and Yogi Beats bring an urban edge with their electronic, funk and soul tunes.

Saturday 3rd August is a feast for the ears with an abundance of acts from 1pm to 9.30pm. Taking to the stage will be newcomer and powerful vocalist Savanna Lee. Then disco, soul and party band Soular will be performing their floor-filling classics, whilst seasoned performer and much loved local hero, Mark Walby is back with his cool rock acoustic set. Whailtail are joining the party with their funk-groove tunes, Just Shut up and Dance with Camilla Lewington will get crowds dancing with their dance floor classics and Rafeelya and the New Life Band are bringing a taste of the Caribbean with their reggae melodies after being a special guest last year and the winner of 2017’s ‘Britain’s Got Reggae’ competition.

Sunday 4th August takes Super Sunday to the next level as the party continues from 1pm to 7.30pm.  Join alternative bellydance troupe Syren who will perform middle eastern influenced moves to tunes you wouldn’t expect, followed by Salsa Del Sol as they bring a latino twist with South American music, dancing and workshops you can join in with, The Rip Cords are guaranteed to get the dance floor rocking, Alex Taylor will be bringing the sound of a full band with just himself, his guitar and a loop pedal followed by Tux Fizz who return for the fourth year running and are sure to deliver an unforgettable show.

The Arts & Crafts Market will be packed with great gifts ranging from handmade jewellery and soaps to henna tattoo art and wooden garden ornaments from traders from across the county and will run all day Friday through to Sunday.
