Cotswold Wildlife Park launches CotsWild Academy

Cotswold Wildlife Park launches CotsWild Academy

Cotswold Wildlife Park has launched an online education programme to keep parents, teachers and wildlife park fans connected to their favourite animals during lockdown and beyond. The programme offers free online content, entertainment and educational resources via the Park's social media channels.

The CotsWild Academy is mainly aimed at primary school children who wish to learn more about the animal kingdom. It will include videos, quizzes and behind-the-scenes footage to teach students about the Park's fascinating and varied collection of mammals, birds, reptiles and invertebrates from all over the world. Videos will be hosted by the CotsWild experts, Helen, Bethan and Emma and will cover everything from why a Lion's tongue is covered in tiny little hooks to quizzes such as "Whose poo? - an expert's guide".

Education and Conservation Officer Bethan said: "We're thrilled to announce the launch of the CotsWild Academy - the first educational online programme at the Park. We’d love people of all ages to get involved so, while the majority of posts will be aimed at primary school-aged children (our CotsWild Explorers), we will also feature questions and facts aimed at secondary school-aged children (the CotsWild Rangers). However, we hope that people of all ages will enjoy learning a bit more about the animals here at the Park”.

Cotswold Wildlife Park is inviting anyone interested in the new education programme to follow @CotsWildExplorers on Instagram, @CotsWildTweets on Twitter or visit the Park's official Facebook page: www.facebook.com/cotswoldwildlifepark.
