Lechlade Craft Barn passes the test

Lechlade Craft Barn

Lechlade Craft Barn has found a temporary new home at the opposite end of the town, with workshops now taking place in the spacious Memorial Hall complex.

Co-owners Jennie Turner-Maskell and Karen Holland have adapted to the current situation and changed the format of the craft workshops to comply with government guidelines.  In July they achieved Visit England’s ‘Good To Go’ status, confirming the new way of delivering workshops adhered to public health guidelines.  Last week they demonstrated they are going above and beyond to deliver workshops as safely as possible.

“We had a spot check by Visit England.” said Jennie, “we not only met the strict guidelines but were able to demonstrate we are going the extra mile to make our customers feel as safe as possible.  We’re still delivering the fun and friendly element of workshops, we’re just all a little further apart!”

Lechlade Memorial Hall and Pavilion have proved extremely popular with customers, giving a light and spacious feel to workshops and enabling social distancing.

The crafty duo are reporting busier than ever workshops, with places on Christmas workshops booking up fast.  “We have had to limit the number of Christmas workshops we can hold, there is only one workshop of each of our popular Christmas makes and there’s obviously an appetite for people wanting to get out and get crafting.” said Karen.

With projects such as decorative wreaths, needle felted polar bears and new half term family workshops on the schedule, there’s plenty of variety to tempt all tastes.  For those not ready to venture to a group workshop, the Craft Barn’s new range of craft kits is available to order via their Etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/lechladecraftbarn
