Lambing & Kidding returns to Cotswold Farm Park after 2-year break – 600 Ewes due to give birth!
Next month, Adam Henson and the team at Cotswold Farm Park are thrilled to be opening the doors to their long-anticipated lambing and kidding event which is set to return after a 2-year break. COVID restrictions over the last couple of years led the Farm Park to deliver their spring births behind closed doors, so this year will be an exciting opportunity for visitors to once again witness live births, with over 600 commercial and rare breed ewes, as well as nanny goats, due to give birth over a 10 week period.
As well as lambs and kids, the popular Cheltenham attraction is due to welcome a wide variety of new-borns including piglets and guinea pigs, which visitors can get up close to. The Farm Park’s experts will also be giving daily lambing talks in the Animal Barn, so visitors can learn more about the ewes.
Adam Henson told us: “Lambing is one of the most exciting times of the year in the farming calendar, so I’m looking forward to getting visitors involved in all of the action and seeing the 600 ewes give birth. We’ll be bringing the ewes inside any day now ready for this year’s event and it won’t be long until the first lambs arrive!”
Scanning of the ewes happened last week and the Farm Park are expecting over a thousand lambs to arrive. Visitors can watch exclusive behind the scenes content about the scanning process and pregnant ewes via social media (@cotswoldfarmpark).
The Farm Park re-opens on 14th February, with lambing and kidding taking place until 24th April. Tickets can be booked online in advance from the website.
