Can you ‘quack the case’ this Easter at WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre?
You’ll go quackers for the Easter Duck Trail being held at Slimbridge Wetland Centre this Easter, running from 9 – 24 April.
Get everyone together for a fun-filled, family day out and go in search of the bright yellow ducks hiding around our amazing wetlands! Pick up a trail card and crack the clues for this Easter trail with a difference, discovering more about our real life ducks along the way. Our feathered friends are particularly colourful and special this time of year as they show off their bright breeding feathers. You won’t want to miss them!
As well as the duck trail there will be other quack-tastic activities to enjoy - become a real life adventurer at the Arctic Experience; delve deep into the living conditions, food rations, and clothes worn by a researcher. Discover tiny wetland creatures at pond dipping or download the Slimbridge family-friendly app, ‘Wetland Heroes’ and learn the secrets of Slimbridge and its spring wildlife. Throughout Easter there will also be a host of talks, from family science sessions on eggcellent eggs in the Living Wetland Theatre, to otter and eider talks. The Easter Duck Trail and all of these Easter activities are included as part of the centre admission price and are free for WWT members.
Added extras include the popular Canoe Safari which will be returning from 9 April; grab a paddle and spot wildlife from the water on a fun, kilometre long canoe safari trail. Sit back and relax as you look out for wildlife along the way such as dragon flies, warblers and ducks. Canoes are priced at £10 per boat and are weather dependent.
There are also pre-bookable sessions running this April at Slimbridge, including the Young Birder ID workshop on 15 & 22 April. This is an event for young, keen birdwatchers, aged 13-18 to get to grips with bird identification with the help of one of Slimbridge’s experienced Reserve Wardens.
