Watch the 2009 Bourton-on-the-Water football match in the river Windrush
Explore Gloucestershire again attended the annual Bourton-on-the-Water football match in the river Windrush on Bank Holiday Monday 31 August 2009.
This inreasingly popular Cotswold event was watched by hundreds, maybe thousands of onlookers who had waited in eager anticipation for this great sporting spectacle. Two teams from Bourton Rovers (the local football club) go head to head for 30 minutes (15 mins per half), and delight the spectators with fun, frolics and mischief in the river!
Back in 2006, Explore Gloucestershire took some great photographs, and in doing so got drenched. This year however, armed with a step ladder, camcorder and wet suit, we were able to capture and record the afternoons football match.

Unfortunately we don't know the result but for some strange reason we think the Reds won.
