Special post - show ghost tour following The Woman in Black

The Lady in Black Ghost Tour

Theatre-goers are being offered a unique experience at the Everyman in Cheltenham – the chance to go backstage after a spine-chilling show and learn about the ghosts who inhabit the historic building - and maybe even bump into the ‘Grey Lady’!

Anyone booking tickets to the first night of ‘The Woman In Black’ on Monday 10th May can also purchase an extra ‘Ghost Tour’ ticket for just £5 (numbers are limited) for an exclusive look behind the scenes and to hear spooky stories from a tour guide who has several supernatural first-hand experiences to share.

The 45 minute Ghost Tour will start immediately after the show and will be led by Roger Hendry, the longest serving member of staff at the Everyman.

Roger said: “There have been many strange happenings and sightings at the Everyman over the years witnessed by many different people from actors to stage managers, ushers and backstage crew.  None of it will be make-believe.  I’ll be telling people about things that have really happened.”

The tour is not for the faint-hearted and will involve a lot of steps!

Unanimously acclaimed by the critics, this adaptation of Susan Hill’s best selling novel combines the power and intensity of live theatre with a cinematic quality inspired by the world of film noir. It is a formula that provides audiences with an evening of unremitting drama as they are transported into a terrifying and ghostly world.

A lawyer obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by the spectre of a ‘Woman in Black’, engages a sceptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul.  It all begins innocently enough, but as they reach further into his darkest memories, they find themselves caught up in a world of eerie marshes and moaning winds.  The borders between make believe and reality begin to blur and the flesh begins to creep...

Now in its 21st year in the West End, over 7 million people have lived to tell the tale of one of the most chilling and successful theatre events ever staged.
To book tickets for the show and ghost tour on Monday 10th May call the box office on 01242 572573 – this special offer will not be available online.
