GLOUCESTERSHIRE TREASURE TRAILS are coming to a town near you this Summer!

This Summer, GLOUCESTERSHIRE TREASURE TRAILS are coming to a town near you!

Just a few weeks to go until the summer break and how many of you are already wondering what to do to keep the family occupied and happy?  You’ve played all the board games, the cost of theme parks leaves you cold and taking them shopping is going to send you over the edge!  Well, fear not. A new Gloucestershire company has a solution that will entertain, enthuse, educate and involve the whole family – all without breaking the bank.

“A Treasure Trail is basically a game and a guided walk all rolled into one,” says Rachel Butt, Manager of Treasure Trails Gloucestershire, “You can hunt for buried treasure, solve a murder mystery or even foil the plans of a mad professor in our walking and driving Trails.”
There are currently 14 different Trails based in towns and villages all over Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds, and more are being added all the time.  The newest to join the range and available for the first time at The Cotswold Show are a Treasure Hunt in Tetbury and a driving Spy Trail around the Forest of Dean.

“The Trails aim to take you around the best sites of your chosen location, giving you interesting historical and factual information whilst having fun finding the treasure, the murderer or the hidden device. The Trails are inexpensive, suitable for all ages and you can do them whenever you like and take as long as you like. Combined with a picnic or a pub lunch they make a great day out with a difference”.

Each Trail costs £5 and the easiest way to get one is to download it from the company’s web site, (www.treasuretrails.co.uk/gloucestershire/things-to-do.html) but they are also available in most of the County’s Tourist Information Centres and a range of other retail outlets.

“One of the great things about a Treasure Trail is they are perfect to do on days when the weather is not good enough for the paddling pool,” concludes Rachel, “They are ideal for visitors and local people to get out and about in the fresh air and to get the children away from the television and video games.“

“Come and see us in the Craft Tent at The 2010 Cotswold Show on 3 & 4 July for a choice of the full range of Trails”. We look forward to meeting you and to finding out where you’d like us to go next!
