The Magic of Westonbirt this Christmas
And it even snowed...
The enchanted wood at Westonbirt Arboretum has been a magical place to visit at Christmas for 16 years and is now visited by around 30,000 people.
Explore Gloucestershire went along to experience the spectacle on a cold November evening and to add to the display there was a light dusting of snow.
Faeries on stilts sprinkled magical pixie dust onto the heads of excited children who also met a green Father Christmas and his reindeer. The wonderful walk through the illuminated enchanted forest was a comfortable 45 minutes and just long enough for a family walk. As long as you wrap up warm and wear sensible footwear it is a fantastic way to kindle the Christmas spirit.
Westonbirt Arboretum is an amazing place to visit any day, but using clever lighting and imagination the woods have been transformed into a truly enchanting place.
