Lechlade Festival organisers announce Band Showcase Nights

After a successful 2012 event, the organisers of Lechlade Music Festival are already planning ahead for 2013.

The reputation of the Lechlade Music Festival is growing and already bands are lining up to play at next year’s event, which takes place on 24th – 26th May.

Such is the demand for places that the organisers have announced a series of Band Showcase Nights, giving bands and performers the opportunity to show what they can do, whilst helping to raise awareness of the main event.  The first of the band nights takes place at Lechlade Memorial Hall on Friday 5th October, with future dates booked for Friday 19th October and Friday 23rd November.  The audience are able to get involved in selecting who goes through to  play at the 2013 festival as the festival team will make their selection based on the level of the performance and the feedback from the audience.

Festival Director Jennie Rainsford says “We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response to the festival and the applications to play have already way outstripped this year.  It’s no longer enough to watch bands on YouTube or listen to them on Sound Cloud, we need to see how they perform live.  There are exciting expansion plans for 2013 and we will be adding in a number of new attractions, plus increasing the number of bands and performers.  A main aim of the festival has always been to give value for money and with the further growth planned for next year, festival-goers will be getting an even better deal”

Tickets for the Band Showcase Nights are just £5, with a minimum of 4 bands per night and a bar. The venue for the October & November dates is Lechlade Memorial Hall and there will be further dates after Christmas in Witney and Cirencester.
