Lakefest is back… bigger and better for 2013!

Lakefest 2013

Cold, dark and damp Christmas shopping can wait; we are ALL about introducing a little sunshine into your life today with the news of next summer’s LAKEFEST 2013 line-up.

And it’s hot! The multiple awards-nominated festival, now in its second year, is returning from August 9th-11th and the organisers of Lakefest 2013 are delighted to announce their first round of line-up news.

Ultimate festival band, The Levellers, will be headlining the event on Saturday night. The band had to pull out of this year’s festival due to injury. The Friday night headliner is due to be announced shortly and the Lakefest trio have promised fans they will not be disappointed. A big name is expected to amaze festivalgoers. Steve Daff, one of the organisers of the three-day festival, explains, “We are overjoyed to have The Levellers back on the line-up. The other Lakefest guys and I were gutted when they had to pull out of this year’s festival, with only three weeks to go. We see The Levellers as one of the greatest festival bands of all time and it will be an incredible way to round off our Saturday night." Also booked, and new to the line-up this year, are living legends Chas & Dave; English singer-songwriter Cosmo Jarvis; Afro-Celtic dance band Baka Beyond and the UK's number one party band, The Chip Shop Boys. They will be playing alongside Lakefest favourites: Missing Andy, The Roving Crows, 3 Daft Monkeys, Erica, and Avert Francis.

Earlybird tickets have already sold out, but the current adult ticket at £69 and family ticket at £150, represent extremely good value for a three-day festival and are available at:

Levellers

The mighty Levellers will be headlining our Saturday night slot and are sure to finish off the night in style. Not to be missed!

Cosmos Jarvis
Somewhere between perfect pop, deep funk and nonchalant virtuosity, Cosmo inhabits a ground that he is fast beginning to claim as his own.

Chas & Dave

Chas & Dave are an English pop rock duo, most notable as creators and performers of a musical style labelled "rockney", which mixes "pub singalong, music-hall humour, boogie-woogie piano and pre-Beatles rock 'n' roll".

Baka Beyond

The original Afro-Celtic dance band. They make uplifting dance music that crosses boundaries between age, race & culture. Formed in 1992 after a visit to the Baka Pygmies in the Cameroon rainforest, Baka Beyond has evolved into a multicultural dance band with members from 6 countries in Africa and Europe.

The Chip Shop Boys
The boys perform with a great mixture of songs at every type of event. Formed in 1996, they have toured Dubai, Bahrain, throughout Europe and the USA, playing with some of the biggest names in the business.

3 Daft Monkeys
The release of the 3 Daft Monkeys’ latest CD, ‘The Antiquated and the Arcane’ on their own 3DM Records, is another landmark in the prolific song writing of the Monkeys, and is already being heralded as their best work to date.

Missing Andy
With tracks such as The Way We're Made it's easy to see why Missing Andy are gaining so much attention, the song is a stunning combination of driving rhythms, potent riffs, soaring instrumentation and an infectious mix of spoken and crooned vocals that's equally rousing as they are soulful.

Erica
Erica are indie pop rock. The tune is king. Descending minor chords, japaaaaan. But most of all: Erica loves YOU. Born as The Envy in the South West, but name-change because they can, and because Erica means 'storyteller' in Norse.

The Roving Crows
Formed in early 2009, The Crows infamous inexhaustible energy in their live performance alongside fiery fiddle playing, trumpet, guitar, drums, bass and vocals has given them stand alone status in the up-surging live music revival.

Avert Francis
Francis taught himself how to play the guitar in the traditional claw-hammer fashion after discovering the music of Townes Van Zandt. Inspiration is drawn from traditional Folk and Blues artists and story telling is always key to his songwriting experience.
