Families can enjoy a varied programme of creative and educational half term activities at Corinium Museum in Cirencester, with hands-on workshops inspired by fossils, mammoths, mosaics and archaeology. Booking is essential for all sessions.
Tuesday 17 February: Fantastic Fossils: Dino Footprints and Insects in Amber Craft Workshop
This hands-on workshop invites children to create their own modern-day fossils using a range of materials. Activities include making imprints, crafting an insect ‘trapped’ in amber and handling real fossils from the museum’s collection.

Wednesday 18 FebruaryMighty Model Mammoth Workshop
Children can enjoy a creative morning building their own model mammoth skeleton, followed by making a colourful collage background to show where their mammoth may have lived.

Thursday 19 February: Mini Mosaics
Inspired by the Roman mosaic collections at Corinium Museum, this workshop begins with a gallery visit before children create their own mosaic tile to take home using colourful, safe glass tiles. All materials and instruction are provided.

Saturday 21 February: Cirencester Young Archaeologists’ Club
Corinium Museum launches its Young Archaeologists’ Club for children aged 8 to 16. Participants will get hands-on with history, exploring themes from the Stone Age to the present day. This month’s focus is fossils.
