Linoprinting Workshop at Nature in Art

Monday 22 July 2024

Linoprinting a Wildlife Subject with Richard Jarvis

Nature in Art at Wallsworth Hall is the world's first museum and art gallery dedicated to art inspired by nature. They run creative art workshops throughout the year.

Linoprinting is an excellent introduction to relief printing. It can easily be done at home, using the minimum of equipment. Once the basics have been learned there are many variations of the technique that can be explored.

In this one day workshop Richard will cover the basic tools and techniques to get started with Linoprinting, including use of the cutting tools, transferring an image onto the block, through to the inking and printing of the Lino block using a press or burnishing by hand. There will be time to practise with the cutting tools before cutting and printing your block. It is best to start with a fairly simple subject.

Richard will have a selection of images available on the day, but you are welcome to bring your own images/sketches along. Two sizes of Lino blocks will be available 4 x 6 inches and 6 x 8 inches.

See link below for materials required.
