Haywire at The Barn Theatre

This new play, commissioned by The Barn and licensed by the BBC, invites the audience to step back in time to the golden days of radio drama, just ahead of The Archers' 75th anniversary. Using the magic of radio, the play transports you to 1950, when a small group of actors recorded the first episode of what would become one of Britain’s most iconic and longest-running radio programs.
Haywire celebrates the pride this Radio 4 soap brought to the nation, as well as the enduring power of radio drama. It's an endearing and hilariously funny tribute to The Archers—a love letter to the show and the creators behind it, offering a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making of a radio play.
