Art Courses at Nature in Art - Pigments into Paint
Thursday 25 - Friday 26 September 2025
With Fiona McIntyre
Nature in Art at Wallsworth Hall is the world's first museum and art gallery dedicated to art inspired by nature. They run creative art courses throughout the year.
On day one of this course, participants will explore the natural beauty of mineral and earth pigments, learning to transform them into paint. Using red, purple, and orange ochre foraged from the UK, as well as exotic lapis lazuli from Afghanistan and green earth from Italy, the artist will demonstrate the process of mulling pigments into watercolour paint.
Day two will focus on using these handmade paints to draw and paint exquisite natural objects on handmade watercolour paper. Fiona will guide participants through layering techniques, highlighting the delicate nature of these natural paints.
Materials will be provided for a charge of £15, payable on the day.
