Half Term at Gloucester Cathedral
Tuesday 17 & Thursday 19 February 2026
Visitors are invited to follow in thousands of years of footsteps and tales this February Half Term at Gloucester Cathedral, celebrating the magic of storytelling in one of Gloucestershire’s most historic settings.
Families can explore the many ways stories are told and experienced, including rare access to the hidden Cathedral Library for special storytelling sessions.
In the Chapter House and Cloister, visitors can enjoy a range of creative, drop-in activities, including:
- trying their hand at acting
- discovering finger puppetry
- designing a stained glass window
- taking part in a mini LEGO® workshop led by Josh, the Cathedral’s LEGO® enthusiast, complete with his own LEGO® cathedral
Meanwhile, in the Medieval Library, storyteller Jarek will be sharing stories and fables of monkeys, saints and dragons, inviting visitors to explore this hidden space and celebrate the Cathedral’s rich tradition of storytelling.
Activities take place in the Chapter House, Cloister and Library.
