Matthew Bourne’s renowned New Adventures company returns to Cheltenham in 2025 with The Midnight Bell, a captivating dance-theatre production set in 1930s London.
Inspired by Patrick Hamilton’s novels, it follows a group of lonely souls seeking connection in the foggy streets of Soho and Fitzrovia. Inside The Midnight Bell pub, love, longing, and betrayal play out in bittersweet encounters, revealing the hidden struggles of the working class.
Premiering to critical acclaim in 2021, The Midnight Bell received five nominations at the 2022 National Dance Awards, with Matthew Bourne winning Best Modern Choreography. Featuring fourteen of New Adventures’ finest performers, this evocative production is a must-see for lovers of dance and theatre.
