At the heart of this story is the Queen’s Dresser, a working-class woman who rises to a position of influence, only to find that royal favour is fleeting. With humour and poignancy, this production celebrates the monarchy’s most enduring figure in a way never seen before.
Starring Anne Reid as The Queen and Caroline Quentin as The Dresser, the play is penned by Daisy Goodwin, creator of ITV’s Victoria, and directed by Dominic Dromgoole, former Artistic Director of Shakespeare’s Globe.
