Home Service arrives at The Roses Theatre with their new lead vocalist Bob Fox at the helm. Touring their latest album A Live Transmission, the band fuses traditional folk with pulsating rock and powerful brass to deliver the unmistakable sound of Home Service.
Driven by Graeme Taylor’s fiery lead guitar and a stirring brass section, their music explores modern-day issues through historical storytelling, blending genres from folk and classical to hard-hitting rock. From their groundbreaking 1980s work like Alright Jack to iconic performances at major festivals such as Cambridge, Cropredy, and Dranouter — and the acclaimed The Mysteries trilogy at the National Theatre — Home Service has long held a respected place on the UK folk rock scene.
Their triumphant return in 2011 with the best-selling Live 86 album and high-profile festival slots earned them the Best Live Act award at the 2012 Radio 2 Folk Awards. Now, with the release of A Live Transmission – their first recording featuring Bob Fox – the band is back on the road and sounding better than ever.
