Cubs in the Cathedral

Friday 11 July - Sunday 14 September 2025

While exploring the Lions at Large trail in Gloucester, visitors are encouraged to step inside the majestic Gloucester Cathedral to discover a hidden pride of playful lion cubs.

Each cub has been individually decorated by local schools and community groups, creating a colourful and heart-warming indoor trail for families to enjoy. Children can explore the ancient interior of the cathedral while searching for these creatively designed lion cubs — a delightful extension to the main city-wide trail.

Complete the trail and a small prize awaits! No booking is required, and the Cubs in the Cathedral Trail is available during normal visitor opening hours, which can be checked via the Gloucester Cathedral website.
