Gloucester Cathedral is now offering the first of its eagerly awaited Tower Tours, with further dates set to be released soon.
Climb 269 steps to the top of Gloucester’s most iconic landmark and enjoy breathtaking views stretching 40 miles across the glorious Gloucestershire countryside to the Malvern Hills. This unique 60-minute guided tour also offers behind-the-scenes access to ancient roof spaces not usually open to the public.
The 60-minute guided tour takes visitors up the winding medieval spiral staircase, culminating in breathtaking panoramic views from the top of the tower. On a clear day, it’s possible to see up to forty miles across the stunning Gloucestershire countryside, reaching as far as the Malvern Hills.
Along the ascent, guests will visit the historic ringing chamber and the awe-inspiring bell chamber, home to Great Peter – the only medieval bell of its size still in use anywhere in England.
