This October half-term, the Painswick Rococo Garden will be transformed into a world of time-travel magic as the much-loved Great Scarecrow Hunt returns.
This year’s theme takes visitors on a journey through the ages – and even into the future – with scarecrows ranging from Roman gladiators to steampunk explorers and imaginative robot gardeners from the year 3025.
Created by local organisations, schools, and community groups, each vibrant scarecrow features its own charming backstory. Families and friends are invited to spot them all while enjoying a fun-filled seasonal day out.
Beyond the trail, October brings a stunning transformation to Rococo Garden.
The trees and hedgerows burst into a dazzling autumn palette, shifting from lush green to rich shades of amber, crimson, and gold. It’s the perfect backdrop for a chance encounter between a Roman warrior and a futuristic inventor.
