Behind Closed Doors at Berkeley Castle

Monday 1 - Tuesday 30 September 2025

For one month only, visitors to Berkeley Castle can step beyond the usual experience and uncover two remarkable hidden spaces.

This exclusive event grants access to King Edward II’s Cell, rarely open to the public, and—for the very first time—the private Family Chapel, which has never before been accessible to visitors. It is a unique opportunity to explore the fascinating history that lies behind closed doors.

Please note:
Access to Edward II’s Cell and the Private Chapel is via stairs only and is not suitable for wheelchair users.
